SOLAR TECHNOLOGY

Solar technology harnesses the sun's energy for various applications, primarily electricity generation and heating. It involves technologies like photovoltaic (PV) cells and concentrated solar power (CSP), which convert sunlight into usable energy forms.

How it works:

PV cells convert sunlight directly into electricity using the photovoltaic effect, where light triggers the release of electrons and creates an electric current.

Solar panels:

PV cells are grouped into panels, which can be further organized into arrays of varying sizes to power individual homes, water pumps, or large-scale electricity generation.

Efficiency:

Monocrystalline panels are known for high efficiency (22-27%), while polycrystalline panels have a slightly lower efficiency (15-17%).

Applications:

PV technology powers various applications, including residential and commercial solar systems, battery charging, and even powering portable devices.
